Learned from her, this year I decided to do this too. Although I am alone, or lonely, not as happy as her, and be really afraid of holidays, still there are some sparkles in my dull and hopeless life.
So, here comes mine:
Dear Friends & Families:
2008 is a big year for the world, US elected its first black president, China had its first Olympic game, and lots people suffered from all sorts of disasters. As a random small creature in this planet, I, however, had a flat year with a few minor changes in my life:
- On Jan 25th, I resigned from my first full-time job as a Data Mining Engineer at Amazon's Alexa Internet, and left the gorgeous Presidio of San Francisco behind
- On Jan 28th, I joined Google as a Software Engineer, and so far I am still alive ...
- On March 1st, I moved from South San Francisco to North San Jose, basically, from one apartment to another apartment, but a better one for sure
- In March, I also started to play badminton regularly
- On April 9th, We supported the torch relay in San Francisco ...
- On May 5th, My father retired from CSCEC and landed Shanghai Pudong International Airport, finally, after 13 years of service in Alger, my parents reunioned, and lived happily ever after in the beautiful Hangzhou city
- On August 27th, I was in Lake Tahoe again, lost some money in slot machines, and had a crush on sth. ...
- On September 6th, I had my first golf lesson, it's not easy at all
- In September, the whole family had a reunion in Yiwu and Hangzhou, except the lonely me
- In October, I started my weight loss plan, since the necessity condition to be a pretty woman is: SLIM and the necessity condition to attract a decent man is: PRETTY
- On November 12th, I obtained my I-140 finally, but still, long way to go
2008 is still not over, but I can imagine that the remaining days will be full of shopping, sleeping, attending parties, coding (yes, coding, not a typo), and watching movies ...
To summary, my 2008 is: busier but merrier, or, the more the merrier.
For 2009, I wish:
- I can still be alive
- Both my brother and I can fill the black holes in our hearts
- Go back China for a visit if allowed
